Intrigue Speaker Cable by Matthew Bond Audio

The Intrigue speaker cable is an all out effort to re-invent the famous Phase 2 speaker cable from 1988, with all of the advances that today’s technologies can provide. The Intrigue speaker cable uses two solid core conductors per run (+/-) insulated in Polyester-Mica (3 microns), an insulation material exclusive to MB Audio that no polymer material can possibly match. These two conductors are suspended inside two PTFE (Teflon) tubes. A polymer sleeve holds the pair of Teflon tubes together and the finished cable is covered in black mesh.

The sound: A truly airy, open and three-dimensional soundstage with excellent imaging. Notably, the high frequencies are extended yet smooth and refined. There is no coloration from plastic insulation materials in the mid-range, the sound is completely natural and distortion free.

The conductors for all Matthew Bond Audio cables are made in Japan from six-nines (6N) pure copper. The insulation on the conductors is a new technology, called Polyester-Mica. Mica is a natural element, a superior dielectric or insulation material, made into a fine powder and mixed with polyester. Poly-Mica is exclusive to Matthew Bond Audio and it has no distortion or sonic effect that you will hear with plastic insulation. PTFE (Teflon) and any plastic insulation/dielectric materials simply do not compare to Polyester-Mica.
All technology in the Insight speaker cable is original. The design concepts, design work and inventions are the result of 45 years of my ongoing research, original design concepts and proven engineering. Solid Core conductors and Air-Tubes originated with me in the mid 1970’s and early 1980’s.
