How do you collect the Data?
Audiogon collects resale prices from a variety of sources, including online listings, input from dealers of used equipment, and information received from manufacturers. The vast majority of used prices shown are the average price of recorded sales. If there are not enough recorded sales for a particular model, then the algorithm makes a prediction based upon the overall resale prices of that brand, and the resale prices of that type of component in general. These algorithms account for age, depreciation, mechanical devices, and many other variables.
