I enjoyed this Wadia 850 CD player with my Classe CA400 for several years. This Wadia has a volume control so you don't need a Preamp. Wadia is known for their DA converters, and when you go from the source (balanced output) to the amp,there is no coloration from another component. This is a step down from the 860 but looks exactly the same, and when I bought it new, I couldn't tell the difference sonically. I just knew it passed the chill bump test. Delicate yet dynamic. Stereophile has a good review. A year ago I had a problem with track selection. I sent it in and Wadia fixed it and gave it a clean bill of health. They even sent it back in a brand new box. Includes remote and manual and the spiked feet. The spiked feet are great but they don't like the wood shelves very well and I compromised and didn't use them after a while. I am simplifying and consolidating my electronics and the CA400 is elsewhere on Agon. Priced just above trade in value by the Bluebook.
