THANK YOU.
We’re Stereo Exchange, located in New York City. We've been in business since the 1970s and are a major high-end dealer. We have all the current top brands on display in our huge showroom.
This Stax DAC-X2t DAC is the most lavishly built and uncompromisingly designed DAC that I have seen in recent years.
When new it sold for about $12,000. God knows what it would be today.
---It has true differential DACs for the lowest noise when used with balanced cables
---It weighs more than some power amps
---It has three power supplies, internally, to prevent interference between the various digital and analog sections.
---It comes with 3 power cords that plug into the bottom to keep noise away from the analog circuits
---It has a tube output stage
---It has oversampling to push the digital noise up to so high a frequency that the simplest of output filters can be used to prevent “digititis”.
---It looks like it costs a fortune… which it did!
We don't have the original owner’s manual, but we DO have a manual for a DAC-X1t, which appears to be similar. We have three power cords to go with it (they may or may not be original cords).
- I just tested it with the Krell transport we also have on Audiogon and it produces some of the most lush, romantic sound that I have ever heard from a digital source
- It reminds me of the sound of an Empire 598 turntable with a Koetsu Black cartridge playing a Sheffield Lab 3 LP a while back. You can listen forever and never feel fatigued.
It’s in very nice shape, with only VERY small blemishes, other than some discoloration of the anodizing on the top where the holes were made for the machine screws…this is NOT unusual for its age and this type of metalworking and finish.
- The reserve is $1988.00.
Please give it a good home.
