AUDIENCE 2+2 SPEAKER

I am the original owner of this pair of Audience 2 + 2's and all manuals and original boxes are included. They are two years old.  The finish is black ash and really works well with all furnishings and decor.  The cabinetry of exceptional quality and there are no nicks or scratches and the grill covers have no snags as they have never been used by me.  These speakers have Audience's latest version of the audience driver. The speaker's performance is landmark in many ways by using identical single full range drivers with no crossovers - totally coherent with natural transparent sound. They are a bipole speaker which greatly enhances the soundstage and the feeling of live music.  I have never heard another monitor that can give the tapestry of sound associated with a live performance like this speaker.

Dick Olsher' review in the Absolute Sound has so many positive comments that it is not practicle to note them here, but he summarized his review by saying, "The Claraudient 2+2 is by far the most enjoyable, musically compelling mini monitor I have auditioned to date. It crushes other mini-monitors at their own game, yet can play louder with lower distortion and power compression."  The full review can be reviewed at absolute sound's website. The Audience ones and 1+1s have also been reviewed there and at other sites and the 2+2s just magnify those positive reviews.

 The base drivers on the side of the speakers are passive and serve the purpose of absorbing energy that might otherwise produce chuffing and of course do not employ any type of crossover.  These are easy to drive (by comparison, noticeably easier than the Harbeths that preceeded them in my system) - 90db/4ohm. The four drivers allow them to be used in large rooms (in my experience) as I have them in a 16 X35 room that opens to other rooms and they play plenty loud and literally fill the room with lifelike sound.
