The Lamm LP2.1 Deluxe Phono Preamplifier (released in spring of 2014) is one of the finest tube phono preamplifiers in the world in this price range; it’s based on the Design of the Lamm LP1 Signature model, which retails for $34k.  The LP2.1 now uses the same tubes as the Signature, but is contained on a single enclosure, whereas the Signature has a two additional enclosures to house the power supply for each channel. 

Michael Fremer of Analog Planet said of the original LP2 model and now with the LP2.1 the unit has been brought a big step forward toward the Signature model.

"Subtle string textures, reeds, and female voices were positively thrilling, and the size and weight of the entire picture—especially stage depth extending well behind and in front of the speakers—was particularly impressive.
