Very expensive, fine furniture grade custom bespoke powered subwoofer. Read below for the details.

ART DECO SUBWOOFER (Subzilla)

This high end art deco style powered subwoofer represents a no compromise hi-fidelity solution in looks and sonic performance. This “active” subwoofer is 56" tall, 31" wide and 22" deep weighing around 380 pounds. It was primarily designed to provide subtle, thunderous, clear and musical bass with extended frequency responses down as far as 17hz and up to 150 hz. Frequency, room adjustment and crossover (subwoofer and high pass) are all completely adjustable.  The speaker was also designed to look like a piece of expensive furniture rather than an ugly rectangular box (happy wife….happy life!!).

It was built to match sensitive world-class main speakers, but would integrate well with speakers of any size and sensitivity. It is a high sensitivity but beautifully designed bespoke unit, built by Art of Sound, a subwoofer specialist in Florida to match a pair of Living Voice Air Scouts (which we have since sold), a horn speaker with sensitivity greater than 100 (Many subwoofers are designed for low to medium sensitivity main speakers which “lag” with its output enough to make the bass sound “muddy” when used in conjunction with high sensitivity main speakers).  It is hi-gloss veneered in curly maple in the style of an art-deco cabinet with acoustic doors to providing a furniture look. It is finished stylistically with an 11" art deco stainless steel "Soko" man and is in excellent condition.

The subwoofer features:

·         A 21" Cabasse driver in a sealed alignment (a unit designed specifically for large subwoofers)

·         A 490 watt RMS Hypex subwoofer power amplifier with variable crossover.

·         The crossover can be variably set between 50hz and 150hz, 24db/octave

·         Crossover is independently adjustable for high pass and subwoofer
