Almarro a318b Integrated SET amplifier. This is just as great sounding as the reviews state that it is. An SET sound without being a gutless wonder. Almost impossible to find new in the USA nowadays. 3 years old. Light use. New power tubes from Upscale Audio (50 hours or less). Includes original russian driver tubes (500 hours) with a spare russian 6sn7 from Almarro. All original - no mods.
Has one very small nick at the edge of the wood frame near the back (see photos) that is of no significant cosmetic importance, otherwise in very good condition. Works fine. No issues. Used in smoke free dedicated audio room when not boxed. Kept in box for past year. Selling only to help downsize to one system and declutter my life.

| what speakers were/are you driving? how warm does this amp run? did you tube roll the the 6sn7's and if so what was the result? if there are needed repairs who would be the contact person and where are they located? thank you !
Hello, I use Audio Note AN/E speakers. A great combination. The amp is very well voiced with the stock russian driver tubes. That is why people buy from small companies like Almarro. It is much easier to make it worse thant to make it better. Not much better with sylvanias. Brimars were a little smoother and velvity but you lost some of the drive and clarity. It runs hot but not like you would think, since it only has one power tube per channel. It is well designed to disipate any heat. It did not heat up my room as much as other tube amps with multiple power tubes did. Just never touch the tubes while hot. Tube gear service is very subjective. I use Harwil in Los Angeles, they are the service division of USA Tube Audio in Arizona. They do a good job with gear. |
