AUDIBLE ILLUSIONS L3 LINESTAGE WITH REMOTE CONTROL--PRICE REDUCTION!!!
I am a new seller, but not new to Audiogon. Purchased new by me in mid-2012 from an authorized dealer, this very versatile linestage replaced my more expensive Conrad-Johnson ET3-SE. Side-by-side, the Audible blew away the CJ--IMO vastly more dynamic with much more defined bass, sweeter highs and more detailed and engaging midrange. A classic design, the Audible preamp was rated by the Absolute Sound in 2012 as one of the twelve most significant preamp designs of all time. In this latest itineration the designer had substantially upgraded various parts and the heavy separate power supply--which is attached by a fixed umbilical cord. Rated conservatively as a 7 due to a nick in the upper right faceplate, this linestage comes in its original double boxes, with original owner's manual, power cord and is fitted with Herbie's Tube Dampers and Synergistic Research fuses in both the preamp and the power supply (original fuses are included). To find a noticeably better sounding preamp you need to spend triple the price--I did the looking and the listening. A sleeping giant. The linestage and power supply are both black. | Greetings. I have one on order on the AI factory trade policy... I traded the MOD 3A. I'm very surprised that your L3 has not sold as yet.... it is an excellent line stage preamp and a bargain at full list price. When I purchased my ModWright power amp, my intent was to buy one of the 2 line stage preamps they offer. However, the ModWright/Mod 3A line stage combination was so good, I was afraid to replace the Mod 3A. So... I went for the L3 for the remote. I purchased the Heed model, Quasar, phono stage to use with the L3. I just thought you'd like to know. Good Luck! Jim Thanks for writing. I agree that the L3 is a killer line stage for the money; I was serious that to really beat it requires triple the money. It is unfortunate that the line is not marketed, let alone not marketed well.
