Screamin' Deal
Condition 8/10 due to age only, appearance and operation 9/10. Time to sell the mainstay of my system that I've had for 8 years. Shortly after I made my purchase Conrad Johnson released the ACT Two series 2 for $16500. The two improvements as I understand it were the power supply was compartmentalized and the small signal polypropylene film caps were replaced with Teflons (all large caps are Teflon already and no electrolytics anywhere). I couldn't justify the loss on my unit and coughing up. So... I replaced the small signal caps with V-cap teflons and also replaced the stock IEC inlet with Furutech's sonically outstanding copper base metal gold plated FI-09G(see below). These changes transformed my line-stage. Opening up, extended high frequencies and small scale dynamics were the obvious improvements along with some additional tonal colors becoming richer. Just as impressive were the traits gained using the NOS 1994 vintage 6N30P-DR "supertube" quad. Gestalt, superb mid-bass and a see-through transparency. I believe these are 20000 hour tubes (will also include the original stock tubes in new condition). For tube dampening rings I've used and include these:

"Use part 9319K26 from McMaster-Carr (562) 692-5911 - teflon-coated
silicon 0-ring, size 116, for small electron tubes, e.g. 12AX7. Place
one ring per tube near crown. Greater dynamics and focus, with no
side-effects. And they will not melt."- thanks to Geoff Kait for posting this on Audio Asylum.

Will include shipping Fedex ground insured to the 48 states for asking price.

I replaced the stock IEC inlet with its nickel plated brass base metal
to the MUCH better sounding cryo'ed gold plated copper base metal FI-09G
which is quite a bit larger in size. The inside is so stuffed with
large teflon caps etc. that there is no room to accommodate the larger
fiberglass nylon body and its large screw down method of wire fastening.
Though it extends out of the back plate it is very sturdy as I have used a Revelation Audio power cable and
then a Tara Cobalt extensively without issue. Neither of these power cords are
included though.
