My Octave HP300SE tube preamplifier is in pristine condition. It includes the MC phono stage. It is balanced In and out and has a low output impedance making it compatible with most amplifiers. The line stage uses a 12AT7 and 6922 tube; the MC a single 12AT7. Tube rolling is easy and inexpensive. Not shown is the external power supply that runs the 300SE. Questions for the seller |

Sorry,
Just saw the pictures. Can you describe the sound little bit. How is the bass reproduction, soundstage, mid-range and highs. I am interested if you can come down on the price. Never heard of these preamp before. I am used to EAR, Audio Research, Conrad Johnson, Thor audio . Lamm and sonic frontier preamps. Thanks.
Philip. The Octave is a very accurate preamp. The bass, mids, and treble are reproduced very cleanly. It is not a classic tubey sort of sound. The soundstage is excellent, deep and wide. It is an extremely quiet preamp. You also get three levels of gain to better match it to various amplifier efficiencies. I hope this is helpful. |
