Cable Elevators EXTRA LARGE Heavy Glass 1950s Vintage Industrial Insulators set of Eight

This is a set of eight EXTRA-LARGE size heavy tempered-glass -Made in USA- Cable Elevators that are actually a matched set of very cool mid-century industrial clear-glass utility cable-insulators produced in the early 1950s by the Owens-Illinois' Kimble Glass Works operation at Hemingray's Glass insulator division.

The last picture shows on the left the standard-size elevator of this type that I've sold a number of in the past, in contrast to the extra-large version for sale here shown on the right.

Like the standard size elevators they not only work well to optimize cable function they really complement the look of the entire system, but these are really big and heavy.

Since good large glass insulators are getting so difficult to find, this set will probably be the last that I'll have for sale for quite some time to come.

As vintage insulators go, these are very much collector grade with no cracks, chips or missing pieces. This set shows easily in an exceptional 8/10 condition, but I will officially list them at 7/10 due to their age.

Bright sunlight makes the clear glass appear almost mirror-like to the camera from certain angles, but they are actually are cast of clear glass. Some may have varying degrees of a slight amber or ice tint.

The extra-large elevators are about 4-1/4" Tall x 5-5/8" wide and can easily support cables up to about an 1-inch (25mm) in diameter. They are perfect to raise your speaker cables or long interconnects off the ground for optimum performance while at the same time being great looking upgrade to your system.

These heavy glass elevators are pretty tough but each will be individually packaged and then double boxed with lots padding to survive any transport hostilities. Please see my feedback.
