Suhweeet! Rare bronze version equivalent of the KA-8300.

** Bronze Pearl powdercoat (The one pic with the bright light shining on
the unit is an attempt to display the pearlescent effect when the light
hits it just right). Another pic shows it side by side with a component
that has a black finish, so you can gauge the difference.

Okay...what was replaced?
** bulbs, fuses and relay
**All electrolytics (anything 10uF and under were replaced with film
caps, preamp electrolytics are now polymer, with Panasonic FC in the
power supply and Nichicon FG for audio. Some caps in the PS and output
stage were bypassed with film caps)
** All resistors (all signal resistors 1% tolerance metal film...all power resistors are higher current rated than spec)
** All ceramic caps (replaced with high stability/high reliability NP0/C0G)
** All diodes (some higher current rated)
** All transistors (except output packs)
** Pots and switches hgiven the prerequisite Deoxit treatment

Main filter caps were upped to 22,000uF/80V, from 15,000uF/63V. The
power switch was bridged so both sets of contacts are now utilized. It's
clean, quiet, powerful and a looker!

If you can find a better sounding 9800, buy it...but you won't find one.

Fine print:

There are no returns for the unit because I cannot
be guaranteed that the unit won't be dropped, cross-wired and shorted,
liquid spilled in it, or whatever user error. What I will however
guarantee, is that at the time of pickup/shipping, the unit will have no
static, cracks, pops, hums, etc., every switch/knob will work as
designed, and that the unit will sound cleaner than the day it rolled
off the assembly line.
