Totally rebuilt Linn Sondek LP12 with custom Wenge plinth and matching anti vibration platform. If Chip Foose or Dave Kindig owned an LP12, this would be it !
The very desirableĀ Wenge plinth weighs over seven pounds and rests on four adjustable black chrome spike feet. Base board is 3/8" Baltic ply secured to plinth with machine screws into brass inserts (see photos). The anti vibration platform is matching Wenge framed onto gloss black ceramic tile backed by Baltic ply and mounted onto four sorbothane feet. (see photos).
The motor has been cleaned and lubricated and runs quiet and consistent. The drive belt is a new third party belt.
All electrolytics replaced onĀ Valhalla power supply, as well as other critical components (see photo). AC output to motor set at exactly 85 volts (see photo).
The stainless top plate has been epoxy primed, painted, and finished with multi coats of automotive clear coat and polished. The original Linn arm board has also been clear coated to match the top plate.
The Linn Akito 1 tonearm is smooth and clean with no hesitation both vertically and horizontally.
The Ortifon cartridge is NOT included in this sale.
This is an exceptional looking deck and sounds just as sweet. Photography does not do this turntable justice.
Questions for the seller |
---|
Do you know if this is the original Akito or the second generation? Thanks for your interest Jeffrey...This is the first gen Akito. This one passed the postage stamp test perfectly...Price would be at least $600 to $800 higher on the newer Akito.

Is there a dust cover? Sorry no dust cover ...
This plinth is 1 3/8" wide compared to the Original Linn plinth of 7/8" so the Linn dust cover will fit without issues and does not look out of place. A new cover and hinges from Linn will run at about $225 plus shipping.
