One owner. I bought this unit direct from Denny Brown, who made it to my specifications. A great tube Pre with a "killer phono section", according to Dick Osler, who reviewed it in TAS 264 (July/Aug, 2016). Check out this review. This unit has been on TAS's Editor's Choice Awards list ever since. Probably has about 250-400 hrs on the tubes. While I have owned it since Nov. 2016, I have not used it for a while. Decided it was time to pass on some of the good stuff I have sitting on the shelf. I sent it out to Denny Brown in Texas and he tested and checked things and found no problems and sent it back with a clean bill of health. Nice warm, but not euphonic tube sound, with detail and range. This unit is functioning as intended and has miniscule cosmetic issues of tiny fleabite dings here and there and a minor scuff (not through the black) on the face plate. This shows up in the photo of the left side of the face plate. It is about 1/2" long and about an inch to the left of the selector knob. It cannot be seen unless the light is just right. In addition there are some small spots on the sides that I believe are associated with the finishing process when they were painting the chassis. I wiped them with a damp cloth but they did not come off, making me think they occurred during finishing. Again, they are minor and cannot be seen unless viewed from a certain angle, and this is not an angle that you are likely to take when the unit is in your system. I take all this time to talk about cosmetic condition to be up front, and especially, if you need your gear to have perfect cosmetics and pristine fit and finish, to suggest that perhaps this unit is not for you. Use these shipping dimensions to estimate shipping costs from me (zip 21601) to you. Go to the UPS site and select the shipping tab and choose "estimate time and cost" from the drop down menu, It is this estimate that willl be used to determine shipping fees. The A-gon estimator is inconsistent for some reason and may give a faulty figure. Local pick up can be arranged. Buyer pays shipping fees and Paypal fees. email if you have any questions.

You mentioned it was made to your specs, does it differ from stock units?
Thanks Not really. I guess that is a little misleading. My "specs" were to include the phono section, the black face plate and to use an upgraded volume pot, which is now standard on the new ones. I say new ones, when the website does not show or feature the SP 1B at this time. I do not know the availability of a new one from the factory.
