Janszen Loudspeaker Valentina Active Hybrid Electrostatic Speakers

These Janszen Valentina Active hybrid electrostatic speakers (formerly known as, and actually labelled as model zA2.1A-HP) were delivered new from the manufacturer to the original owner in April 2017. They have the natural cherry baffles and the Air Layer tweeter option. The photos are of the actual units for sale. These speakers have never needed repair, operate as new, and are in cosmetically excellent or better condition.

The stock front feet are mounted on the speakers and allow adjustable tilt-back for listening distances of from eight feet or further back and include locking speed nuts for quick adjustment of the tilt-back angle. Included with the sale are accessory bolts and spacers to allow greater tilt-back for nearer-field listening, if desired. Also included with the sale are 10-foot power cords and RCA-to-XLR adaptors.

These speakers are internally bi-amplified (the Active part of the speaker name) and the crossover between the sealed-box dynamic woofers and electrostatic driver, as well as equalization is performed using DSP. Four pre-programmed bass settings are selectable at the touch of a button, allowing the bass level to be easily adjustable for speaker positioning from full corner to well out into the room. 

All that needs to be added to the speakers for a complete high-end audio system is a source with an analog output and volume control (such as a computer, or disk player, or smart phone, or tablet, or streaming device such as a Squeezebox.)

To operate these speakers, you connect them to a wall power outlet via the included AC power cords and connect them to your source via the included balanced interconnects (with adapters at the source, if necessary). No speaker cables are used.

The dimensions shown are overall dimensions including the integral and permanently attached 2.5" high, 12" wide, 14" deep plinth, which is the largest part in terms of width and depth. The speaker boxes themselves are only 36" high, 10" wide, and 9" deep. The tilt-back, shaping, modest size, finish, and very flexible room placement makes the speakers quite decor friendly.
