Garrard 401 Professionally Restored by Woodsong Audio

Here is a nice, stock 401 we are selling for a client who opted for a 301 instead. This has been professionally restored to original spec. We specialize in the Garrard and Thorens Idler drive decks, look for us on the web. We know how to make these decks sing, and how to make them run quiet.

Complete disassembly down to the chassis, all parts disassembled, inspected, and cleaned using ultrasonic tank and other means.
New idler wheel bushings.
Motor bushings and shaft measured for correct running tolerance, motor shaft micro polished, and a new thrust ball installed.
Motor shaft thrust end resurfaced
Sintered Motor bushings cleaned of old contaminated lubricant using heat, ultrasonic, non-polar solvent, and vacuum, then recharged with the correct lubricant in a vacuum chamber as recommended by the manufacturer of Oilite sintered broinze bushings.
New motor oil felt rings
Motor coils checked for shorts.
Motor spindle checked for straightness
New Woodsong Audio Eddy brake disc
New Woodsong drive pulley
Idler wheel edge resurfaced, axles journals inspected under microscope and micro polished. Idler wheel axle thrust end resurfaced. New Idler wheel thrust plate surface.
All linkages lubricated and checked for proper alignment and movement.
New faceplate.
Chassis cleaned
on completion of the rebuild, all decks are run in for several days, and watched carefully for correct operation, and fine tuned as necessary.
