Under 500 playing time. Amps were crated for safety when movers came after my father died, as they were located in a demo room at his home. Cannot easily uncrate them for closeups because of their weight (140 pounds each crate), but could do so upon serious buyer's request.

Although this is a pair of the original Aelius, they can be cost effectively upgraded to the brand new Aelius 2 model, which would require them being shipped back to the factory for upgrading. I believe the upgrade cost is about $6,000 + shipping. The new Aelius 2 sells for $39K/pair.

Of course the new Aelius 2 is an improvement, but the original Aelius were magnificent amps in their own right, and were a current model until late 2016. But it's good to know they can be upgraded, either right away or down the road if you wish.
 
Aelius amps use tube input stage and solid state output stage, so they are hybrid amps. They have the liquidity and 3 dimensional holigraphic midrange of the best tube designs. But they also have massive current output, drive capability, and control of the most awkward speaker loads typical of the largest and finest SS amps.
