Octave Audio of California Prototype

Custom audio equipment enclosure built by Octave Audio of California. Unit size exterior: L 54" x H 72" x D 23". Internal size: L 48" x H 65" x D 20".   
Continuously adjustable shelves x 4 with center shelf roller sliding drawers (3) for storage, CD's etc. (photo #10).   
Top shelf (right half) includes a recessed 1.25" thick Granite turntable platform base (photo #4), supported by HD Sorbothane vibration isolation pucks (1" x 2.5" ea. x 4). Granite base: W 22" x D 18"   
The bottom base and main frame structure is fabricated from square tube steel fully covered in American Oak plywood on all shelf surfaces. The tube frame base is wrapped in black sheet metal bottom skirt surrounding the metal framework on all 4 sides. The base tube frame contains 4 HD swivel roller casters allowing ease of movement on all floor surfaces (even carpeted floors). The base frame structure also contains 4 HD screw jacks located at gusseted corners (photo #8 & 9) allowing final placement setting, leveling and anchoring. The upper frame structure includes (4) corner upright square steel tube posts with infinitely adjustable shelf – slotted frame track. The tube frame section, also includes metal framing for each of the shelves, all covered in top grade American Oak plywood (top, sides and front face). The front smoked glass doors and side panels are framed in solid American Oak trim on both f/b sides. The back of the enclosure has a 2-way sliding Oak panel that allows open access to all equipment and interconnect wiring.  
The first shelf above the bottom shelf platform has a custom 20 amp power regulator/surge suppressor (attached underneath shelf in photo #5 & 6) with rear facing electric outlets. The rear electric outlets are controlled from the front upper black face panel (see photo #3 & 4) via on/off rocker switches, controlling power to: outlets marked A, B, C and Circuits 1, 2, 3. The back rear vertical corner posts each have full length slotted wire duct raceways allowing for clean and efficient cable routing between all components and shelves.

The current $100 price listed is a give away to any audiophile wanting a fully enclosed, state of the art, audio component cabinet w/ built in regulated power supply/surge protector housing their prized audio equipment. The original raw cost w/labor to build this prototype at Octave Audio's fabrication shop in San Jose, CA. was approx. $6,000. The finish is top grade natural American Oak using a tung oil rub. The Oak finish can easily be stained to any color of one's choosing and/or style.
