These are electrostatic design but do not require the usual 'step-up' outboard transformer and can be driven from any device, including portable devices as they are VERY efficient.
Clean, open, excellent resolution. Have never used them, opened package for pictures only. Just have too many headphones in my collection right now to justify keeping these.
