This is not a sound conditioner nor is it a surge suppressor. That is its strength. However, it is a quality power strip which does condition the sound in the sense that it does not limit the quality and dynamics of sound as do most if not all sound conditioners and current suppressors. It improves dynamics and the quality of sound heard with quality copper and outlets. I bought two of these power bars for my system new and did not get around to using it. It appears new and unused, but I cannot remember if I used it, so I am listing as mint. However, I can honestly say that after owning and listening to over a dozen expensive $1,000+ actual power conditioners I found this simple power strip to be one of the very best sounding and the very best for the price. Why? Because it does not have dynamics limiting sound altering surge suppression or conditioning, but it does have wonderful sounding heavy duty copper and high quality power outlets. Conditioning and surge suppression suppresses more than current spikes. They limit dynamics and the quality of the sound. So, if you are interested in quality sound and opening up the dynamics and avoiding cheap sound destroying power strips, bad sounding low quality power outlets, or expensive sound destroying power conditioners, this power strip is by far from my experience and much trial and error, the best way to go. The only power strip that I owned and liked just a little better was the much more expensive ($800) Shunyata PS8 Power Strip.
