THIS AD IS ONLY FOR THE PLATFORM The optional floor cones shown are sold separately. These platforms provide sonic performance far exceeding that of competitive platforms costing many times more!

We are often asked to describe how our platforms compare to others on the market. Our answer is as follows: "Most all products have some advantages and disadvantages, yet the Adona, mult-element platform, being a Hy-bred design combines several advantages while isolating and extracting the disadvantages. These are perhaps the most well-rounded platform on the market today!

As far as actually comparing our platforms to others, at best, we can just give a brief comment on some of the more popular products. And one important thing to consider: What may be the best solution for one user, may be the worst for another!

Acrylic and composite platforms are usually very attractive and are great for "deadening" vibration, but they can actually tend to sound a bit "dead". The perceived improvement in sound stage is more likely to be contributed to an increase in dynamic range, which is in itself a good thing. However, the actual sound-stage is not all that great, when compared to many other platform technologies. They usually come with a scary price tag, which is unfortunate, especially when considering the fact that they don't hold-up well under normal wear-and-tear. Search the "used" classifieds for these guys and you will most likely read statements like: "just a few surface scratches that may be easily buffed-out". If this were true, the seller would already have done so for you, and would not be taking the "used car salesman" approach.

Maple offers a rich, warm, yet resonant signature. But unfortunately your "stuck" with that sound as no tweak offered in current-day technology will change it. Maple "rings" quite a bit, perhaps second only to glass. My first experience with maple was in kinder-garden, when the music teacher handed me a block of maple and told me to tap on it with a stick. It produced a very loud ringing sound. Last but not least, many people seem to have "issues" with the appearance of maple and usually request that they be stained or disguised in some way to look like other more exotic materials. Although not as popular these days as they once were, maple platforms still "warm" the souls of many listeners and will likely be around for a long time. (Adona sells top-quality maple platforms, but they are no match for our multi-element platforms).

And, what about solid-granite, solid-surface, high-pressure-laminate and other "counter-top" materials? Too many problems to list, so we won't even go there!

In summary, the Adona, multi-element platforms are durable and offer lively imaging characteristics, much like maple, but without all that "resonant-ringing", plus they are profoundly quiet and even more attractive than composite platforms.

Perhaps the greatest advantage though, is their ability to be fine-tuned or tweaked to meet your listening preferences. Being tolerant to most after-market coupling/decoupling devices, you have unlimited freedom when compensating for unique room conditions or individual component characteristics.

All platforms come standard with black trim. Also available with optional cherry trim for an additional charge. $75.00 for the 18x18.

Standard 18x18 with black trim: $170.00 each. Cones don't come with the platform but they can be purchased separately

We offer platforms in many different sizes. 18 x 18, 19 x 24, 21 x 27, 14 x 18, 12 x 24 etc.
