ISOKinetik Modular Turntable

For Sale is my ISOKinetik Turntable.  Please see my other listing for an Origin Live 1 Tonearm. I have them listed separately but would discount to sell both together.  I have too many turntables and hate to part with this one.  It will outperform much more expensive turntables.

Model  MOD1

"The modular one set the bar high –the baroque music had a real openness and transparency – breathtakingly realistic

Instrument positioning was excellent both side to side and front to back

The trumpets in the Tchaikovsky symphony were extremely clear and open, yet strident as indeed they should be

The lower mid range was well controlled and tight

Bass drums were punchy with great grip and also very extended

Bass was brought into life in a way I had not heard before with this recording

The whole unit looks impressive: it is apparent that everything has been manufactured and finished to a high standard"

MORE INFO

The MODULAR ONE turntable is an introduction to the ISOkinetik range of analogue replay.

The turntable is designed as a fully customisable, upgradable base on which to build to the users personal style and cost up to fully-fledged mid range record player, which competes favourably with competition at much higher price points.

The MODULAR ONE plinth is CNC machined from billet acrylic and highly polished to give a stunning finish, the feet are machined from Delrin and have dense sorbothane anti vibration pads

The bearing assembly is made of phosphorus bronze incorporating a Ruby bearing, with aluminium and ground steel sub-platter that is precision engineered to exacting tolerances with 0.001 concentricity between the axle and hub.

The MODULAR ONE uses a quality asynchronous motor and plays 33 rpm and 45 rpm.

Like many other turntables in its class, moving the drive belt on the pulley changes speed 33.3/ 45 RPM

The turntable benefits from having a tonearm transfer plate, this plate allows users to fit almost any tonearm, and indeed users can benefit from comparing a number of tonearm/cartridge combinations by simply dropping in the relevant transfer plate.  It comes equiped with a transfer plate that will accommodate standard Rega 25 mm pivots.

The 12 mm diamond polished acrylic platter has a neutral character.  It is stunning.

It has an upgraded motor and comes equiped with the upgraded sub platter option.

ISOkinetik ISOsub GT 2 S upgrade Rega Sub platter kit

Must have Rega upgrades "The ISOsub platter and matching ISOplatter- not just because it looks great, but it plays an very important part in improved dynamics"

ISOkinetik ISOsub GT 2 S upgrade Rega sub platter with a Ruby Bearing.

ISOkintik have made several improvements to the ISOsub sub platter through improved machining processes, achieving even tighter tolerances - the over size bearing shaft is ground to within within 2 microns of tolerance.

The “S” version now incorporates an agate bearing plate on the bottom of the spindle –  The super low coefficient of friction agate bearing surface helps to lower noise floor immensely providing blacker blacks and extended but more controlled bass frequencies.

Pitch control is much better due to super low concentricity between the hub and the axle bearing and of course the three point brass Cz121 contacts perfectly balance the platter on the ISOsub sub platter.

The Sub platter assembly is two-piece construction. The hub is machined from Aluminium, the bearing axle and the record spindle are made of ground stainless steel. Following assembly, the Sub platter is carefully inspected for concentricity.

You can only use certain record clamps due to the spindle being longer than the original Rega item

This is a 'must have' sub platter upgrade for all Rega Planar 1 2, 3, 25, 5 P1, P2,P3 P24, P25, P5 owners also suitable for other NAD and Moth turntables – simply replace the  plastic standard item in 5 mins.

" The first thing I noticed about the ISOkinetik/Rega unit was the overall sense of quality.  The upgrades seem to have blended well with the original rega unit and there was no sense of bolt on extras being fitted.  I was familiar with the rather stunning look of the ISOplatter and ISOsub from my previous review of the Modular One turntable and, to my eye, it transforms the appearance of the fairly bland 'black on black' look of the Rega Planar deck"

" The Isosub GT2S rocks! Every aspect of my P25's sound is dramatically improved because of this I highly recommend this mod for every Rega owner", Audiogon user

Kind words from our customers

Hi ISOkinetik

All arrived and installed - running in and sounding bloody great. Its
had Tool, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, System 7, Keith Jarrett and Beethoven
so far...just to give it the full range!

OK - i am actually a little gobsmacked the difference it makes.......analogue!

its incredible value actually - should be mandatory for all rega p1-3 owners!

Well I decided to take the plunge and ordered an ISOsub subplatter kit to try out for myself. With the Euro - Sterling exchange rate as it is this was the perfect time to try a little experimentation.

I have to admit with being pleasantly surprised with both the quality and completeness of the kit.  In the box was the Subplatter itself (nicely machined and finished) along with a ruby ball bearing.

The sonic improvements were just as impressive. Most immediately obvious was the improvement in pitch.  Instruments sound more correct, particularly on long sustained notes.  A result I'd attribute to the more accurate machining of the subplatter.

Then you start to notice that sounds that were faintly in the background are now more forward and pronounced.  Listening to the Dreamland track on Joni Mitchells Shadow and Light Album voices from the audience could clearly be heard and the quiet Male backing vocals during the chorus now resolved themselves into individual voices whereas they had previously blended together.  Possibly as a result of reduced rumble noise from the bearing?

But in addition to this the the soundstage seems fuller and the music more textured and generally more lifelike than before.  All in all just a more enjoyable experience. I'm at a loss to explain why this might be.

Quite simply put, I love it. Cool

My ISOsub GT kit arrived on Friday 23 ---- now that has to be some kind of recommendation of commitment to service ---- just over a week from Twickenham UK to Brisbane down under !

Hey, there's always some apprehension about ordering things from the other side of the globe but ---- thanks guys, you've justified it.

And what a superb product ---- the instruction sheet said it all ---- as a sometime engineer the last thing I would have done would be to twist it into the bearing ---- but what attention to detail to convey this to the proletariat.

OK, I'm impressed ---- and, yes ---- I did run it in for 24 hours before I listened to it.

Early days I know, but after a few favourite LPs this afternoon ---- space, definition and sound stage -----!

Where do we go from here ----?

Maybe a 25 mm platter -----.

Again, many thanks ---- this is absolute quality at affordable prices.

PS  The Isosub only continues to impress ---- 'Jazz at the Pawnshop' has never sounded quite as good as that before!

Regards

David

I received the package yesterday; already unpacked and installed.  From the beginning the sound is clearer and has a better "tonal body"...
Still finding the best combination platter-mat (I have 2 acrylic platters).
Attached are a couple of photos from my P5 with the isosub.
I'm pleased to have made business with you.
Best regards,

Francisco

Barely 10 minutes later and it's up and running and it's like "Sweet Jesus this is fantastic."  Totally confirms my view, after listening to heaps of early 70s Dual TTs, that the Rega needed more metal in it to get it to sing.

Need to put the isoplatter on next.

Well, the sub and the platter are working brilliantly.  I hadn't really
realised how much more damping and stability the Rega needed, but I knew
it was missing something.

Great stuff.

cheers
