The newly released King Sound KS-17 Electrostatic Loudspeakers are incredible to listen to and an amazing value. Recently reviewed by Stereotimes, this latest release by King Sound pushes the boundaries of what is capable in an electrostatic loudspeakers. These speakers provide a remarkable sense of being in the actual performance venue and communicate an incredible soundstage with a great sense of weight, depth and height while offering enormous air and ambient detail.
When I read the Stereotimes review I was surprised that it said that the speakers do not play at aggressive volumes as they have rather boundless capability in my room. I found out and it is worth noting that the reviewer's listening room is about 32 x 42 feet (1,344 feet) with high ceilings. In a more typical sized room (eg, 15 x 20) , these speakers can push an enormous amount of air and really rock the house, if desired.
