This ad is for 1 demo set of Tune Audio Marvel speakers.
Tune Audio is a manufacture in Greece who only builds 4 different speaker
models of speakers from $270000.00 down to $8000.00. The Marvels are the 2nd
speaker in the Tune Audio line up and retail cost is $18500.00 plus taxes. Tune
Audio has been building speakers for over 30 years and the owners wife is a
professional concert pianist who regularly plays in their home, so to say these
speakers sound like a live instrument, would be an understatement. This is one
of the most musical sounding speakers I have heard and I have had over 400
different speaker models through my home. If you put nice electronics behind
this speaker with great cabling, than this could be your last set of speakers.
The Marvels sound more like a live instrument rather than a speaker. These
speakers are very revealing but have zero brightness. I have never heard a horn
speaker do what these speakers can do and I have owned a lot of horn speakers.
Lots of reflections in the pictures but zero marks.

Tune Audio website; THE PURITY OF A SINGLE DRIVER… WITH A BOOST.

High quality 8″ wide range driver for low & mid frequencies upgraded in
house and 1″ compression driver with titanium diaphragm for high frequencies.

MARVEL, are a two way design, compact enough to house a back loaded bass horn
loading a wide range 8″ driver. Bass horn fires to the floor and it’s built of
grade A, 13 layer Baltic birch plywood. Mid frequencies are radiated directly
by the cone while the high frequencies are handled by our proprietary epoxy
compound tractrix horn.

Crossovers are of 1st order and located on the bottom of the bass horn well
away from driver’s magnetic fields with components hard wired for best contact.
All internal wiring are custom made of high purity OFC copper with waxed cotton
insulation. Brass bracing parts with felt acoustic isolation are used to
minimize vibrations transfer on contacts of the horns.

High frequencies horn is located on the side of the bass horn mechanically time
aligned for a time coherent result.

User can adjust the level and beaming of the high frequencies horn to fine tune
MARVEL to the listening room and position.

Tune Audio Marvel website:

• Exceptionally coherent 2-way horn without any transitional wrinkles between
midrange and treble.

• Very authentic vocal reproduction not just for a horn speaker. Classically
trained singers have real bravura moments as can certain singer/songwriters and
even the occasional Pop star.

• The midband is neutral but not cool and in living not oppressive colours
without tendency for Baroque excess.

• The treble is smoother than crisp, more integral than pronounced. Unless
aimed face on, there's no glassiness or nervy harshness. There's even a narrow
±2dB user adjustment.

• Bass exhibits rare elasticity which is quick, bouncy and nicely dry. There's
no upper bass contour but sufficient reach for tuba or double bass. Only very
low synch bass unmasks the limits of the mid/bass units.

• These horns excel at dynamics as does the vast majority of their kind.
Impulses are quick and pressurized but this design wasn't groomed for maximal
stage SPL.

• Soundstaging is generous of width well outside the speakers. Subjective stage
height is very realistic.

• Amplification choice is quite uncritical and both valves and transistors may
apply. Whilst little power is sufficient, even muscle amps can work.

• Fundamentally solid workmanship did here and there betray its origins.

Part of a 6Moon review;

No less convincing was power soprano Diane Damrau who, as Konstanze in Mozart's
Entführung aus dem Serail, asks us to believe her determination and sacrifice
when she claims to willingly embrace any terror rather than betray her beloved
Belmonte. Here the Greek horns had to track an enormously broad dramatic arc
which the singer traces from pianissimo to shattering coloratura; and well up
to the task they were without filtering out any tension. Yet the typical itch
for the remote to turn down soprano peaks didn't occur because this treble
remained free of unnatural bite. And male vocals? Unperturbed yet far from
boring was the sonorous Christy Moores whilst covering Pink Floyd's "Shine
on your crazy Diamond". The Marvels recreated the necessary chestiness to
have me 'see' that despite more than one documented crisis, this already
72-year old Irishman had by now made peace with life. Yes, that's how deeply
the Greek horns connected me with various singers; more even than my usual
German Acapella horns manage. The Marvels were stunningly convincing in how
they approached the human voice. Granted, I surprise myself here by singing the
praises of vocal realism whilst reviewing a speaker breed widely believed to be
bedeviled by colourations. Clearly I noticed nothing of the sort. In fact,
surprising neutrality from the midband on up high into the top registers seemed
to be the bedrock upon which the Tune Audios built their vocal strengths.

The finish is an upgraded high gloss Madagascar finish and the horn is pearl
white (cost is $2500 extra for this finish). They are 5 feet tall and placement
can be directly in the corners of your room or about 2-3 feet out from the
front wall. The horn angle is adjustable, depending on your listening distance
from the speakers. They weigh approximately 100 lbs each and the wooden crate
that both speakers comes in weighs 64 lbs. I can have them shipped anywhere in
Canada or US at buyers expense for $550.00. The asking price is all in except
shipping cost.
