I am replacing my TEAC DAC UD-501. Top notch, dual monoaural, basically one full DAC/everything per channel, down to individual toroidal power transformers. Terrific construction, all metal body, as pro grade as you can get.
I own every just about every digital format there is up to PCM 192 kHz and DSD 5.6 gHz, you can see a couple of screen shots showing the output types being played. I fed it USB (Jriver/Roon Windows PC), Optical (Xfinity), Coaxial (Oppo BDP83) with great results from every source, which I sent via xlr to my preamp.
It has multiple configurations for output (xlr. rca. off). digital or DSD filters, user selectable PCM upsampling (to 192 kHz) and other settings.
It's in beautiful shape, virtually blemish free, only a couple of TINY scratches along the top edge of the sidepods. Faceplate, top, rear panel, sides, all looking just about perfect.
My B&W P5 headphones also sounded very good.
Why change? Simple Audio disease, I will be playing with a Benchmark DAC/preamp for the foreseeable future.

| This has a remote control? Can it mute audio and adjust output level? Hello, this model does not have remote capability. The volume control is only for the headphone amp, otherwise it's line level for the outputs. |
| This unit is purely a Dac with a headphone 3.5 mm Jack that can connect directly to a straight preamp? For this DAC the headphone jack is 6.3 mm (1/4 inch). Connection to preamp is rca or xlr. Volume control only for headphones. |
