McIntosh MR-71 SUPER TUBE TUNER ( REDUCED)

Here we have a beautiful example of a near pristine condition Mcintosh MR-71 Tube tuner, which has been completely refurbished with the finest parts in the world. The service and alignment was performed in May 2018 by Avatar engineering at a cost of $800 consisting of the following:

1) ALL NEW ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS. These are all audio grade units with higher capacitance, voltage and temperature ranges

2) All signal caps were replaced with polystyrene and polypropylene film units. multi-cap!

3) Key resistors were replaced with KIWAME, VISHAY FOIL, TAKMAN RESISTORS

4) 4 tubes were replaced with hand picked NOS super tubes! All other tubes were tested and perform perfectly

5) IF AND MPX MYLAR CAPS WERE REPLACED WITH FAR SUPERIOR AND BETTER SOUNDING POLYSTYRENE AND POLYPROPELENE FILM CAPACITORS

6) All switches and pots were cleaned and lubricated.

7) New Power supply ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers replaced the inferior and often leaky Selenium Diodes

8) Complete alignment and cleaning of the entire tuner

9) New LED dial lights were installed

10) IF cap was replaced with a 10uf polypropylene film capacitor

11) Any out of spec resistor, diode etc was rejected and replaced with audio grade units
