ModWright SWL-9.0 se with Tube rectifier option

Might be the best entrée in to high end Tube Preamps in the last two decades. Exceptional midrange sound without a loss of tautness in the lower registries. One of the cleanest and most bullet proof preamps you can buy. Search the internet. Read the reviews. Look at the prices. These hold their value exceptionally well. Buy, play and tube roll. Sell if you get bitten by the bug.

I am the second owner. Bought it and promptly sent it up to Dan and had the TUBE RECTIFIER and REMOTE installed ($500). Major upgrade! I installed a brown base Mullard GZ34 and took this to another level. That tube is NOT INCLUDED. I have the original Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier tube that I used for 2 months. I installed some NOS Amperex 7119s and this thing really sang!!!! I was so excited I purchased a pair of NOS RCA 5687s. Not the same. Better tubes than stock, but I preferred the 7719s.

This includes the original Modwright packaging, IEC cord, remote, Sovtek 5AR4, (2) Amperex 7119s, (2) RCA 5687s (unused as I preferred the 7119s).

This was the pride of my rack until I recently acquired a Modwright 36.5. Your turn.
