It's time to sell some equipment -- the first up is the WADIA WT-3200 CD transport.

This is a re-listing because of a failed transaction.

WADIA was the first and only manufacturer to feed their digital outputs using a high-speed buffer amplifier rather than the typical pulse transformer that some manufacturers call "galvanic isolation."  The CD laser assembly is an all metal industrial piece with an optical glass lens unlike most consumer versions that are plastic including the lens.  WADIA also incorporates a proprietary method of reducing playback jitter independent of any associated D-to-A (DAC) it feeds.

  • All of the power-supply capacitors have been
replaced to head off any age-related issues.
  • The CD tray servo belts are fresh replacements and
treated for maximum traction and the CD laser servo has been calibrated.
  • The transport has been upgraded in many ways,
but the most significant upgrade was "greening" the laser assembly to
    suppress laser-beam scattered reflections.

This was not my creative thought but the result of studies
conducted at Phillips.  The improvement
in sound reproduction is remarkably better.

  • The ST-Optical sub-board was up-graded to
    optimize its transmitting performance.
  • The S/PDIF output is a 75-ohm BNC connector and
the drive is connected through a high-speed buffer rather than the usual pulse
    transformer.
  • The chassis was reinforced with constrained layer damping to limit acoustic bleed through to the circuits.

The enclosed manual includes information operating
instructions, a Stereophile magazine review of the stock unit, the Phillips
CD-M1 service manual, and ODL® 50 Series II  Lightwave Data Link (ST-Optical) technical
data.

Accessories include the power cord, the PC3200 remote
control, 75-ohm BNC dummy load when the BNC connection is not used in lieu of
the ST-Optical connection, and a ST-ST Optical Fiber 62.5/125 Multimode OM2 Duplex
cable.

I offer it for $1,500
plus shipping and insurance to anywhere in the continental U.S. The shipping
cost appears to range from $50 to $80 depending on where it is shipped.
