Incredible flagship Van den Hul Colibri Signature Stradivarius moving coil phono cartridge. Near mint, one owner example with approximately ~ 90 hours of use. This new model represents the pinnacle of AJ Van den Hul's life long dedication and work committed to pushing the boundaries of analog playback. To summarize in a few words, articulation, speed, resolution, vibrant tonal colors combined with extremely tight, quick and controlled taught bass abilities. This reference level moving coil simply excels with acoustic music, vocals, wood instruments, string instruments and brass ensembles. In terms of sheer size, air, scope and scale the Colibri Signature Stradivarius casts an enormous, life sized rendering of recordings, in fact, it resembles a open reel-to-reel tape recording in this regard.
The cartridge comes with authorized dealer warranty a complimentary 300 hour bench test and tune up service from AJ Van Den Hul himself. Stylus life on these is an estimated ~ 3500 hours, nearly twice as long as most. This is the same cartridge that Absolute Sound Magazine Andre Jennings fawned over, so did Myles Astor in Positive Feedback Magazine's review. Personally, after having owned every iteration of the Colibri during the past decade, I can attest for this version possessing the most air, space, scope + scale (life sized ~ huge!), taught bass and sheer authority during playback I've heard. Timbre read: naturalness with acoustic instruments, percussion, vocals and anything brass (trumpet, clarinet, horns, trombone) are a true, lifelike sounding affair with 3D in the room type of presence.
