The Linn Karik is a really cool single disc CD player. First of all, it reads disc quickly and plays them back with exceeding perfection. The presentation is all encompassing - soundstage is big, it's detailed but not harsh, and it's warm but not overly wooly. The special thing about this player is that it is built to be serviced. Because CD player's laser's have a finite life, it can be a risky proposition to buy and listen to an aging CD player. Linn built this player so that the laser assembly can be swapped out in about half an hour by a service tech. It could also be done by a skilled hobbyist.
This particular one is in great condition and plays discs just as it should. It includes the original manual. Original system remote control is included though not pictured.
