The big improvement you get in sound quality with the ultra expensive digital players is often mostly in the well designed power supply. The Oppo 105 has great sound and video capability but it's chief weakness in stock form is the power supply. When powered by a proper high end linear power supply, the player really opens up and becomes more dynamic. In short, it sounds like an ultra high end player, which it would now be.
