ZMF Headphones Auteur Teak

As-new, mint condition ZMF Auteur headphones in beautiful teak finish. Bought new and received them in April 2018; took me over 3 months of waiting to receive these.

Beautiful artisan headphones with the most graceful, organic and natural presentation with all the details and transparency one can ever ask for. It is definitely not a party music or booming bass headphone -- it's more suited for acoustic jazz or classical music on a quiet evening next to the fireplace with a glass of brandy.

Only reason I'm selling is weight. I had an Audeze LCD3, was too heavy for my disc-prone neck and got the Auteurs. Unfortunately, while it's lighter than the LCD3 it's still about 80 to 100 grams too heavy than what my neck can bear for extended listening. I will miss these most genuine musically pleasing headphones I've ever had. I will stick with my old Audio Technica W5000 woodies mainly because it's so light and still somewhat enjoyable. I've also had Fostex and EMU closed woodies but they all sound too artificial and unnatural; was just too dry and crunchy with utterly unnatural bass slam and distorted frequency balance.

If you're looking for a truly musical pair of headphones along the lines of a Shindo amp or a Totaldac DAC, the Auteurs fit the bill perfectly. For added excitement and a boosted sound, look elsewhere. I know I will come back to these once my neck is back in shape.
