IN CASE ANY OF YOU ARE WONDERING PART 2:
Just because it has been up a long time does not mean I am interested in selling it for 40% of what it STILL RETAILS FOR, especially so you can just resell it somewhere to make $200.
Audiogon used to be a decent place to sell stuff, sheesh!

IN CASE any of you are wondering:  YES this is the same unit that has been up twice.  The first buyer essentially decided he didn't want it, and returned it with the FW "upgraded", but not working properly.  I sorted it out with the helpful folks in Australia.  I'm the original owner.  Ended up being a downgrade/reupgrade sort of fix.
The 2nd buyer had too many unverifiable aspects - phone numbers that don't work, freight forwarder with a lot of bad reviews online, etc.  Agon agreed, and the buyer and I agreed to take it down.  In both cases I refunded their money.  Agon offered to relist it for free - so here it is again.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
.DEQX HDP-4 Speaker/Room correction device.  This is the precursor to the HDP-5, and the big brother to the Primate, etc. and has the XS-1 USB Board installed, providing up to 24/192 input via USB.
This thing is the Swiss Army Knife of interface/crossovers/DRC - allows for a huge range of analog AND digital I/O and Crossover scenarios.  Want to Stereo, Bi- or Tri-amp with your own custom crossover points and curves?  Knock yourself out.  Smooth out room or speaker response issues?  No problem.  Want something better (by a factor of roughly infinity) than a software DRC solution?  This is it.
Note on the rear view that there is Low/Mid/High Stereo output both digital and analog.
Also functions as a very clean and transparent preamp/gain stage/source selector between multiple analog and digital sources and your amp, with remote control.  Full disclosure: the USB is the only 24/192 and 176-capable Digital input.  The rest of the digital ins are 24/96, which I believe was the main reason for the HDP-5, but I didn't pay attention at the time.
I used it primarily with computer server into the USB (as such can natively handle most all PCM and DSD over DOP) and the analog ins from other devices [TT preamp, DAC analog out, etc. (retains character of DAC)]  This was one of the happy surprises of this thing:  Really Good analog input and output - both XLR and RCA.
Sorta helps if you are a tweaker - it is a very deep device, both in terms of hardware and software capability (like Photoshop for a photographer), and takes some time to get your head around.  Once you familiarize yourself with it and can articulate what your specific issues are, you optionally can call in a local expert to tweak it for you.  Or if you want to have nothing to do with the complexity and awesome adjustability of setup - call in a setup person.
Included are:  The Optional Calibrated Behringer ECM 8000 microphone with pop filter for measurements and system calibration; a 20' USB cable to connect your Windows laptop (or Mac running Windows) to the unit to perform calibrations, realtime changes and other functions from your listening seat; a 25' XLR cable for the microphone (mic stand and clip not included - you can hold it in your hand from your measurement position by your head and from sampling spots close to your speakers, or get yourself a cheap stand); the original software CD, which is way out of date - it has been upgraded multiple times since then, but Hey, I save stuff; Printed out Manuals including the Service Manual and the USB board install manual; the Seriously Fully Functional Remote, which allows switching between your presets, inputs, muting/volume, realtime adjustments of EQ, etc., etc.
If you look at the center front face closeup photo, there is the only flaw I can see in the finish, which I frankly hadn't noticed before.  It was likely there since day one ; )  I'm the original owner, and it has been a great device.  If you're thinking of getting into this arena, or have just been tweaking your DRC with Roon or other software-based solutions, this is the next level.
Includes original box, remote, manuals, software discs, mic and USB cables.  Just updated to most recent FW and tested.
