Sonus Faber Olympica I Stand Mount Speakers in Walnut with Sonus Faber Olympica Matching Stands. Olympica I speaker pair $6500 with matching stands retailing for $1200. One owner pair for which Fidelis was the original dealer. Taken back in recent trade for a significantly more expensive pair. Very, very clean and well taken care of. As "like new" as we ever see.

How this pans out sonically is a loudspeaker that delivers outstanding stereo imaging, excellent detail and surprisingly deep bass. But more importantly, it does all these things with a sense of natural drive and energy. You will hear more open sounding midrange and treble performance from many standmounts, but that isn’t the point; if that midrange insight comes at the expense of the overall presentation, the rival loudspeaker falls flat. And many just do that.
If I had to sum up the Olympica I sound in a single word, it would be ‘exquisite’. The Olympica makes the right balance between the rose-tinted sound of old and the requirements for a more accurate and clean loudspeaker today. It looks great, sounds amazing and makes a nice big and powerful sound in many rooms. Highly recommended.

Sonus Faber's Olympica I is one of the easiest speakers to spend time with that I've heard. Their visual design is nothing short of inspired, with a wealth of soft leather, georgeous woodwork, and a profile that even the most aesthetically deficient can appreciate. The attention to detail in their construction is very difficult to find elsewhere for $6500/pair, and should attract those who appreciate that a loudspeaker can be something more than a box that moves air. And they make delicious music. The Olympica I should go to the very top of the shopping list of those who want a loudspeaker that looks and feels every bit as good as it sounds.
