Power Cord - 10 AWG - Copper connectors
- 7 foot
Below is the description of the power cord when purchased.
The
jacket is a robust stainless steel braiding. Looks very stylish. It's actually
soft to the touch. The wire is a thick 10 AWG copper wire. An actual 10 AWG
size, not just claiming a size. I've found a lot of companies claim a certain
size but when you measure it it's far smaller. And it's not made to look bigger
by adding a lot of rubber to fool you. These also have copper connectors on
both ends. So it's copper end to end. Copper is by far one of the best
conductors you can get. I built these this way for a reason. Electricity flows
through copper so effortlessly.
I intentionally did not use any gold
plating. You do not want gold plating. Gold is 30% LESS conductive than copper.
It makes no sense whatsoever to use gold in Audio products.
Most connectors are actually usually gold plated brass. Brass is 70% LESS
conductive than copper. And then they just cover over the brass with gold to
make it appear better. But it's actually a terrible conductor for electricity
and a signal. I see cables on here that cost 3 or 10 times as much on here yet
they have smaller AWG wires. The larger the AWG number the smaller the wire (10
AWG is bigger than 12 AWG for example). And they use cheap gold plated brass.
These wires I have are copper all the way end to end, which is superior.
I built these for my own system. I've
been building my own wires for two decades. I've owned thousands of dollars
worth retail of wire, but one day I started building my own wire, it sounded
far superior than anything I had bought, and for far less money, so I kept
building them.
These particular ones I made and used
for a little bit. I'm selling these because I was moving my system around the
room and ended up needing to make longer ones when I decided on a different
spot for the cabinet. So now I have these for sale. I believe they should be
selling for far more money if you compare to anything retail. And i'd bet they
would beat out many far more expensive cords (I don't have to mark them up to
insane levels to pay for retail overhead and marketing).
