This AUDIO RESEARCH CD3 Mk1 CD player is in NEAR MINT condition. It has just had a complete overhaul including a NEW laser assembly at a total cost of $1700! It sounds FANTASTIC, looks GREAT and operates FINE.

This CD3 Mk1 will include its remote controller, BNC to RCA adapter, owner’s manual and AC power cord.

This CD3 Mk1 was built in the FALL of 2002 when it sold for $4995. The serial number is 52402007.

The CD3 is designed to do one thing superbly: that is, to play back normal "redbook" music CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs with maximum fidelity and full musical expression. While using the 24/192-capable Crystal DAC, the CD3 does not upsample, because empirical research shows sonic compromise is unavoidable due to sample rate manipulation and approximating errors. The engineering focus of the CD3 is to maximize performance with the prevailing music format by keeping the overall player design simple, reliable and optimized for the one task it must accomplish.

PLEASE NOTE: I do not research transportation costs for shipping locations beyond the 50 United States. If you are outside the US and are interested in this unit, you will need to do the research. The shipping carton weighs 35 pounds and measures: 24 inches by 18 inches by 12 inches. My postal code is 91723.

This unit operates with 120 volts AC. Buyers from outside of the United States should know in advance that ProfessorMike does NOT change operating voltages, but that may be accomplished by a qualified technician once the unit has been purchased.
