The Krell KSP-7B is an audiophile level, two channel, solid state preamplifier with an outboard power supply. It has RCA inputs for Tape, Aux, Tuner, CD, and Phono. It has Tape Out, and Main Out RCA jacks, as well as a pair of XLR Main Out sockets. It has a Mute switch, a Phase Invert switch, a tape/processor loop, and a real balance control. There is also a line level externally switchable gain setting on the front panel..

Included in this sale are the KSP-7B, the outboard power supply (which includes the coupling cable to the preamp and the power cable to your wall socket), a spiral bound copy of the owner's manual, a T10 Torx driver that can be used to remove the top plate for phono load adjustments, and factory packaging used by Krell to return the unit to me after recapping in June 2016.

Here's some info about the phono section in the KSP-7B. It has both gain and load adjustments to accommodate just about any cartridge you might run across. It has two internally switchable high and low gain settings for the phono section. Phono loadings can be chosen with internal dip switches from 47,000, 1000, 800, 470, 250, 100, 47, 25, 10, or 5 Ohms.

This unit was recapped at the Krell factory in June of 2016, hence my 9/10 rating. It is fully functional and is performing with no known cosmetic or operational flaws.

FWIW, to use this unit as a very flexible stand alone phono preamp for MM, LOMC or HOMC, just put the selector switch on phono, set the phono gain and loading to suit your cartridge, and run your interconnects from the Tape Out jacks on the back over to one of the line level inputs on your preamp. And don't forget to connect your turntable interconnects and ground wire to the Phono section on the KSP-7B. Of course it is a full function two channel preamp for both line level and phono sources, but it might be of interest to you even if you already have a line level preamp since you can use it as a phono preamp with your line level preamp too.

It will ship in factory packaging. The box is 12"x18"x23" and it weighs 36 pounds. It will ship from 38506. It is packed up and ready to go.

If you want me to change the phono gain or load settings for you so that it is ready to plug and play right out of the box on arrival at your house, just ask, and I will be happy to do it for you. It is presently set up at the default factory settings, i.e. gain is set for low output moving coils, and the load is set at 800 Ohms. I can switch it to a different selection for you in just a few minutes and would be happy to do this if you request.

I won't ship without insurance. This typically adds 1.65% to the selling price based on Audiogon's shipping calculator. So if you're not billed for insurance at checkout, we'll bill it separately. You know you want, and need, the insurance.

Regarding "Offers," I am happy to consider your offer ... but please don't make a silly low ball offer and justify it with an extensive analysis of why this preamp should sell for something in the neighborhood of what you've proposed. I've been buying and selling gear as part of this hobby since the 60's, mostly through eBay during the last 17 years. This is actually a really good deal for a factory recapped KSP-7B, with original box, manual, and no cosmetic issues. I appreciate your consideration.
