Low price!
I am selling a McIntosh MC275 tube stereo power amplifier. This is the original MC275, not later reproduction or reprint.
I used a variac to power it up to about 90 volts. Both channels worked great and produced good music. I did find the gain controls could sometimes disrupt output (reduced sound volume) and I had to wiggle a bit. Some deoxiding is needed. All tubes are vintage tubes, including RCA and Tung-Sol KT88, Mullard 12AU7, etc. All tubes shown in pictures are included. While the amp works now, I don't know its service history and I am not sure the condition of the caps etc. So, the new owner will need to bring it for a service before plugging in wall socket for daily use.
Cosmetics are, well, not for beauty contest. As shown in pictures there is surface oxidation on the chassis chrome. Transformers have scratches and peels, and other rough areas. Fortunately there is no real damage to the amp.
The circuitry under the chassis is original and pretty clean.
So, I am selling this highly sought-after McIntosh MC275 at a price that reflects its condition. I rated it 6/10 because it works but needs restoration in cosmetics and maybe some components.
I welcome local cash transaction. I also know how to pack for safe shipping. Paypal for distant buyer is OK, but please add 3%. Due to its weight (over 70 lbs) I cannot ship overseas.
