Sony ps-x60

sony ps-x60 turntable in fantastic shape.  probably the best value in vinyl-world.

I have tried out about 70 tables (belt, dd, idler). this along with its brother ps-x70 is my favorite. its an engineering marvel that balances out   competing axis of performance, practicality, functionality, versatility, reliability and cost.  I have 5 other  funny money tables but this gets almost as much playing time as them.  here are its strengths:

1) arm is fabulous.     VTA & anti-skating implementation as good as it gets. removable headshell makes cartridge swapping a breeze.  the arm is medium-heavy yet handles high compliance cartridges with aplomb (go figure). needless  to say, the  lower compliance cartridges are unflappable.  note that a  good lyra wont be out of place here . in fact I have used my titan on it briefly. it remains one of the few arms that has accepted all the cartridges  i have thrown at it. also,  the arm sounds the same 365 days a year.. no day-to-day flakiness here. performance-wise, I would rate it higher than a sme309/any-rega....somewhat lower than a wheaton/audiocraft.  but wait ..this arm is pre-mounted on a table (and shows up almost free). by the way, I compared this arm with sony totl   pua-9 and they share same sonic signature   (perhaps not surprising as they share same design).

2) size -- just right. fits on top of smallish-target stand. 

3) weight- just right. 28lb means it is very stable  but is light enough to move easily . the sony sbc plinth really is exceptional (at this price point).

4) speed..   most important  function of a table.  here is why this  table is so  great. the xtal system that locks speed  is always rock solid steady.

5) finally, musicality.. this table is one the most musical DD decks. I have heard...beating out the many technics/denon/micro-seiki decks I have owned.  not far away from the flagship TOTL tts8000.

sorry, for the sales pitch.. but this table flies under the radar. and most don't know how great It is. the only  ready-made arm/table that I have heard that   bettered this is the technics sl1015 with the great epa500 arm...that's a serious table (also  ridiculously  undervalued).

this table is in great shape and works perfectly. plexiglass dust cover is in good shape (minor scuffing ) BUT LACKS hinges (guessing these can made easily).

a lot of these tables are around on the other auction site.. and sometimes they are as cheap as 300!!! (maybe that's why they don't get respect) ...but you may need to buy  2 or 3 to find 1 good one.   I prefer a local NJ sale but will pack safely in case I cant sell it here.
