Thor Audio DC-1000 DAC

Up for sale is my wonderful Thor Audio DC-1000 DAC. I just bought another of these that is not working and I plan on fixing this unit so will sell my perfectly functioning DAC. I bought this directly from Thor Audio years back and have lived with it ever since. This piece has been stored and not used for over 1 year as I have tried a number of all in one players. Serial number is 271 and this is one of the last few ever built. Co-designed by the late Jerry Ozment of Audiologic fame. Better than the Audiologic in every way this model has a separate power supply with distinct digital and analog power feeds. Diameter of the power supply is 8" and the DAC 14". This piece uses 2-6DJ8/6922/7308 tubes and 2-12AU7s. The only minor flaw and this is true of all Thor pieces, the oval clear piece that covers the insignia and surrounds all knobs and switches does have a tendency to curl a tiny bit in spots and needs to be pressed down periodically. 
This is an exceptional sounding DAC! It seems to hit a nearly perfect balance between dynamics, detail and the organic. All Thor products were excellent but their preamps and DAC were exceptional pieces. When you compare this with other DACs available today at this price there is nothing even close in terms of performance. The pictures reveal various input options, but I dont believe the optical input is active. Single ended output only. For some the phase reverse feature may be of interest. I used Dario Miniwatt 12AU7s with Amperex PQ 6922s when this was in my system and old stock tubes make a significant difference. This will be sold with U.S. made 12AU7s as well as Russian made 6922s. Tubes will be matched. What is very nice about this DAC is the fact that microphonics has never been an issue with tubes that I placed in the piece. I took horribly microphonic tubes that wouldnt work in my preamps and they sounded great with no issues when I used them in the Thor. I mention this because many of us have microphonic tubes which may work perfectly in this unit.
The 2 pieces will be packed in their original, very protective, box with all original packing material and shipped immediately upon confirmation of payment. Shipping insurance will be included. In the event you should ever have a performance issue, any good technician familiar with high end audio gear could service this piece. I guarantee the buyer will be ecstatic over the sound of this DAC!
