The performance of any Sistrum Platform™ delivers a greater appreciation for the equipment you already own where a newfound sonic in performance will transcend the way you listen to music. There is a lot to be said about these engineering marvels here on Audiogon as they remain one of the most sought after equipment racking systems in all of audio.

Traded pre-owned merchandise for sale - One SP-4 four shelf model and two SP-101 single shelf Sistrum Platforms are available. The Platforms contain newer 2013 steel shelving manufactured one year before the Original Sistrum design was discontinued. The solid ¾” brass rod core was inspected and the stainless steel tube assemblies were polished and pre-filled with Micro-Bearing Steel. The brass Audio Point packages are NEW. The Platforms will also arrive in new packaging and in near new condition.

The Original Sistrum Platforms can be purchased as a group or individually. The SP-4 (four shelf model) is $1,775.00 and the two SP-101’s (single shelf) are $1,450 ($725 Each) for the pair. http://starsoundtechnologies.com/Sistrum.php

The Sistrum Platform is a geometric mechanical grounding plane rooted on a solid foundation of physics, incorporating the fundamentals of static mechanics and inertia; a transfer of the detrimental amplitudes of resonance caused from vibration (Coulomb Friction) to ground.

This high-speed mechanical grounding process can never be achieved using known isolation methodologies, constrained layer damping techniques or energy absorption processes. You are not going to hear subtle differences in sound when comparing to any other types of racking designs as the sonic results are extremely significant and different. The Sistrum Platform also removes the interference of highly audible frequencies caused from wood racks/shelving vibrating which alters and affects the sonic character of the equipment and sound room.

Live-Vibe Technology™ infused in all Star Sound products is scalable, used inside electronics and loudspeakers, equipment racking, recording - listening and rehearsal studios as a structural framework and has been successfully adapted to musical instruments. For decades audiophiles were told that vibration is a bad thing restricting sonic performance. Everyone of us at Star Sound too were once believers in that old school thought process at one point in our careers. The reality is “vibration is sound” - end of statement, period. Examine how every musical instrument is designed and functions as examples of rational.

All the dynamics and harmonic structures we strive to experience reside within the signature of that vibration, so why does an industry involving music reproduction and sound quality attempt to eliminate or destroy vibration? Could it be those age old anti-vibration opinions, techniques and beliefs that are actually changing and/or limiting performance? Are we willing to understand that vibration is not the problem but resonance build up which is caused by many vibrations is the actual clog in the signal chain? Transfering amplitudes of resonance at high speed is a newer process that delivers  more life to the music so, does this technology represent an industry finally evolving?

You read and hear where many opinions state “make the shelf, rack and/or room sound dead”. There are those who struggle to keep the chassis’ from vibrating by human touch when volume and acoustic energy is present - why? The statement where your equipment “should NOT vibrate” is absolute folklore because it does - it will and that is fact. AC and any type of power vibrates so even the smallest of internal electronic parts vibrate and form resonance. Bottom line, vibration is present in music and sound reproduction so why not use vibration as a tool and focus on establishing component or loudspeaker ‘operational efficiency’ making that the new focus? We find that efficiency in operation relates directly to increasing sound quality.

We ask everyone, “what do you truly seek from listening?” The overwhelming answer is “we want to experience the Live Performance”. Physics dictates once you kill vibration, harmonics and dynamics also die and that elusive yet very fragile ‘live dynamic’ can never be brought back to life - death is final.
