MSB Technology Platinum DAC III w/Signature DAC & Signature 32X Filter Upgrades

The MSB DAC III has the option to be a unique combination of a very high performance DAC and the ultimate passive preamp. The moment analog audio is created, every transition that is made degrades the quality. The DAC III offers a passive preamp within the unit to achieve the simplest, shortest possible signal path, with the least possible degradation of the true music.

The DAC III has just one analog input and many digital inputs. It is designed to be the last component in your system before the amplifiers. With its incredibly low impedance, especially for a passive preamp, it can drive long interconnects and handle any type of amplifier input stage design with optimum performance.

Fantastic condition trade-in MSB Platinum DAC III, with Signature DAC upgrade and Signature 32X filter upgrade. Unit does not come in original box, but will be professionally packaged for shipping. Unit comes with printed owner's manuals, power cord, and remote control.

Unit is rated 8/10 for minor cosmetic wear consistent with light use including some small nicks on the unit sides and a small scratch on unit top (see photos).

Signature DAC Upgrade
This upgrade provides hand-matched DAC modules for superior sound quality. These DACs can run at twice the speed (384 kHz sampling rate) with 1/2 the settling time. The noise level is cut to 1/3 the normal value and the signal-to-noise ratio is up to 145 db.

Signature 32X Digital Filter Upgrade
Upgrades the standard Platinum 16X Digital Filter to Signature 32X Digital Filter. The Signature 32X digital filter is twice what the 16X filter is. Twice the processor and twice the memory results in more than twice the performance. This upgrade offers several advancements:

• It will support a 27 bit DAC (the 16x is limited to 25 bits)
• It has a steeper brickwall filter slope
• It has a flatter pass band and deeper stop band
• It has less image frequency leakage
• Increased compatibility with -6 db

These technical achievements result in three general performance improvements, each with a corresponding improvement in sonics.
