For sale is my beloved Audio Note CD 3.1x tube cdp (version I, not II) in mint condition. Rated 8/10, only due to age. Functionally it is 10/10, cosmetically it is 9/10. If you see the photos, you can see that it is clean inside and out. The LCD display looks a bit brighter in the photos than in real life, but it has been that way since I bought the player. Comes with remote, original box and manual.
I am the only owner and bought it as a store demo w/ waranty over a decade back. The CD3.1x uses the revolutionary and currently exclusive Audio Note™ digital technology dubbed the 1xoversampling™ direct from disc™ circuit topology using the legendary AD1865 chip. Organic sounding, classic AN sound...transparent yet musical.

Service history: Transformer was replaced under warranty. After warranty expired, the output capacitors were replaced very recently (one capacitor was leaking and hence slight static like noise in sound) by local Denver audio repair shop with OEM Audio Note copper foil-mylar in oil film capacitors part # CAP-3310 (same part that originally came with the player, but AN has redesigned the caps for better since the player was built) and had the player checked out. I also applied Noico constrained layer damping sheets on the chassis at specific locations to deaden it (see photos). The 6111WA tube has plenty of life left in it. Honestly it sounds much better now than the stock player when I bought it (more resolution but with same warmth).

I am moving on to a different direction with digital and hence selling it. Asking for $900 shipped to anywhere in the CONUS. Price is fair I believe given the quality and condition of the player. If you care about redbook CD playback, you will not find a better musical player at this price point. Lowballers will be ignored and if you see the ad up, that means the player is available.
