Marantz SR5009 7.2 Channel Network Audio/Video Surround Receiver with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®

Now you can stream your favorite music tracks wirelessly with the Marantz SR5009, which features built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless streaming. Via your wireless home network, you can listen to a huge selection of internet radio stations or stream your favorite tracks from subscription services including Pandora®, SiriusXM™, and Spotify® (not all services available in all markets).

Equipped with an advanced video processor section, the SR5009 features upscaling and transcoding of analog SD and HD sources to HDMI, and it also features 4K Ultra HD pass-through at up to 60 Hz frame rates, a feature of the latest HDMI specification.

The versatile audio section includes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio high-resolution lossless decoders, and there's also Dolby Pro Logic IIz decoding, which provides an additional pair of front height channels to dramatically expand the front soundstage.

Conservatively rated at 100 watts per channel for each of the 7 channels, the SR5009 features identical power amplifier design across all 7 channels for the most uniform soundfield, and the high current amplifier section is fully compatible with lower impedance 4 ohm speakers. Our advanced Eco amplifier mode provides substantial power consumption reduction.

8 HDMI Inputs, 2 HDMI Outputs with 4K Ultra HD 60 Hz Pass-through; 4:4:4 Pure Color

For the ultimate video experience, the SR5009 features an advanced video section with 8 HDMI inputs including 1 conveniently located on the front panel, and all rear HDMI inputs are equipped with 4K Ultra HD full 60 Hz frame-rate pass-through and 4K Ultra HD upscaling. The SR5009 also features Pure Color 4:4:4 color sub-sampling pass-through, another feature of the latest HDMI specification.

 

There are dual HDMI outputs, so you can send content to two different televisions at the same time, such as a flat panel TV and a front projector.

ISF Certified with ISFccc Video Calibration Controls

The SR5009 is certified by the Imaging Science Foundation to deliver top video quality, and the unit also features advanced ISFccc video calibration controls that allow for precision fine-tuning of the connected HDTV, even if it's not an ISF certified set. 

Built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, AirPlay® and DLNA™

Wirelessly stream your favorite tunes through the SR5009 via the built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless technologies. The Bluetooth function features automatic power on and pairing, and up to 8 devices can be remembered. The SR5009 is also equipped with dual antennas for even better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth transmission and reception coverage compared to a single antenna.

 

The SR5009 even includes Apple AirPlay, which lets you stream content from your iPod touch®, iPad® and iPhone®, and there's also DLNA compatibility which means you can access content from your PC or Mac via your home network.

Easy To Setup, Easy To Use

The SR5009 comes with a Quick Setup Guide, and has an intuitive on-screen Setup Assistant that will have your system fully configured with a minimum of fuss and bother. You can even control the setup via your PC's web browser, or use our available iOS® and Android® Marantz Remote apps with your favorite smart device.

New Tablet Apps

In addition to the available smart device apps, we've created a new Marantz Remote app specifically for tablet devices, and it's available for iPads, Android tablets as well as the Kindle Fire®.

Convenient USB Port

On the front panel, there's a convenient USB port that lets you stream tunes from your iPod®, iPod touch, or iPad and charge it at the same time. You can also listen to MP3 and WMA tracks from a USB or NAS device.

Powerful 7 Channel Discrete Amplifier with Eco Mode

For optimum sound quality across all channels, the SR5009 features a high current power amplifier section with all 7 channels configured identically. Each channel is rated at 100 watts (8 ohms, 20Hz~20kHz, .08%THD), and all channels are able to safely drive lower impedance speakers (down to 4 ohms). Our new advanced Eco amplifier mode adjusts power consumption according to signal level, and there's an on-screen Eco Mode display that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time.

 

Advanced HDAM Discrete Buffer Amplifier Modules

The SR5009 features our latest HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) components, which consist of matched precision discrete selected circuit elements on a compact sub-board, instead of conventional op-amp integrated circuits. These advanced HDAM modules provide a full 10 dB of signal-to-noise improvement over earlier HDAM versions, along with ultra wide-band response (100 kHz, -3 dB) for crystal clear treble detail.

Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Pro Logic IIz

Equipped with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio high resolution audio decoders, the SR5009 is also equipped with Dolby Pro Logic IIz, which lets you connect an additional pair of front height speakers to your 5.1 surround speaker system, dramatically expanding the front soundstage for the ultimate in-home movie sound experience.

Audyssey Silver Built-in

Equipped with the latest Audyssey Silver suite of DSP technologies, the SR5009 features Audyssey MultEQ XT automatic room acoustic measurement and correction system, which provides higher precision digital filters for the satellite and subwoofers compared to the base MultEQ system, and also allows for measurement at up to 8 locations in the room.

 

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smoothes out annoying jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels and still enjoy clear dialog and sound effects. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides precision tonal tailoring for full range clarity at any listening level.

Multi-room Listening

You can easily configure the SR5009 for multi-room listening by hooking up a second pair of speakers to two of the amp channels, which lets you enjoy 5.1 channel surround sound in the main room, while others enjoy stereo sound from a different source in another room.

You can also configure the SR5009 for 7 speaker surround sound in the main room and connect a separate stereo amplifier and speakers to the variable second zone stereo pre-amp outputs for multi-room listening.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

With a single subwoofer setup, room acoustics and the subwoofer's location may not deliver optimum deep bass response. Instead, because of room resonances, deep bass quality may be uneven due to room interaction.

The SR5009 features dual subwoofer outputs, you can connect two subwoofers and place them in different parts of the room, and enjoy smoother and more accurate deep bass response.

Color Coded 4-Way Speaker Terminals

The high quality speaker terminals feature multi-way connections to handle various types of cable terminations, and they're all color coded for correct hookup the very first time. Color coded speaker labels are also included to ensure quick and correct hookup with no hassle.

Easy To Use Quick Select Functions

There are 4 Quick Select function buttons on the front panel that let you choose your favorite sources quickly, and the SR5009 will remember your preferred sound settings for each source. There are also 4 Quick Select function buttons on the ergonomic remote control.

IR Input and Output; RS-232C Serial Port; 12 Volt Trigger

For remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system, the SR5009 features IR (infrared) remote control input and output, along with an RS-232C serial port on the rear panel that allows connection to an automated control system, such as Control4.

The 12V trigger output lets you connect to an external remote controllable device, such as a motorized drop down projection screen, motorized drapes, or other compatible component.
