Turntable platters and mats from this material have long been recognized for bringing balance, blacker backgrounds, improved upper end and bass extension, a more cohesive soundstage, and generally just bringing it all together, musically. The Tenuto gun metal turntable mat just works. This is an immediately noticeable upgrade to your turntable. The finely finished and lacquered top surface has a 1mm indent for the label. The underside of the mat is unfinished metal to help ground the mat and to prevent any static buildup. Being a smooth finished surface, keeping the Tenuto free of dust is easy, and your records will appreciate this. The 2.4kg Tenuto brings added inertia and rotational kinetic energy to your platter. The Tenuto is perfectly sized for the Technics SP10 MK2, and we love it for the Garrard 301, 401, and Thorens TD124. (with the use of our precision made TD124 adapter hub) The Tenuto also works really well over a thin cork mat, like the 2mm thick Thorens cork mat which also has an indent for the label.
