For sale is a QNAP TVS-1282T (DAS+NAS) Server - for the uninitiated, the 1282T series is a standalone RAID server that allows extremely high-capacity and extremely high-speed access to massive amounts of media - centralized iTunes, RoonServer, Plex, etc. Unlike every other solution on the market, The 1282T allows for direct-connection access while running and ultra-high-speed transfers - up to 40Gbps so you don't have to sit around waiting for things to happen.
This box is a spare-no-expense version with the following configurations:
Communication:

  • 2x Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C)
  • 2x10GbE networking
  • 4x1GbE networking
Hardware:
  • 6th-Gen Intel i7 (the max)
  • 32GB of 2133MHz DDR4 RAM (the max)
  • 3x HDMI with one optimized for 4k transmission
  • 8x10TB WD Gold Helium Drives (Data center grade, the best, most reliable money can buy)
  • 1x 256GB Samsung SSD (for ultra-high-speed Roon and Plex database access)
Current Configuration: The box is currently configured in RAID-6 (double redundancy) with ~64 TB of usable storage space. It is running RoonServer and Plex Server for the ultimate in audio and video. I have just under 4,300 HD films and 80 full tv series on the box.
Notes: There is about one year of use on the drives, which is roundabout 0.3% (three tenths of a percent) of their useful life, so it's essentially new. It is in mint condition. If a buyer prefers, I can pre-configure for you but, as-is, the box is already configured with speed and redundancy in excellent balance for the audiophile/videophile. The only thing you need to do is plug it into power and network hub, change the password for yourself, and point Roon at it for audio and point Plex at it for video and then load your media.
Asking Price: If you purchase this configuration on B&H (best pricing, generally), it would run $6,333 give or take a few pennies. I'm asking $5k, shipped. I am willing to part ways with my movie library for an additional sum - it's pretty complete from about 1946 forward and has all the newest stuff loaded up. Price negotiable there, if you're interested - will provide a listing on request. Moving overseas and can't take all the toys with me, unfortunately. My loss, your gain.
