The Clearaudio Satisfy Carbon Fiber features high quality handmade Swiss vertical and lateral bearings composed of a pure polished sapphire. It is wired with Clearaudio's Direct Wire in order to provide an unbroken low-resistance signal path from the cartridge pins through the arm tube to the phono-preamplifier. Its precision milled aluminum headshell is mated to a carbon fibre arm tube and allows for accurate cartridge alignment including azimuth adjustment. In addition, the Satisfy CF features an elegant, innovative magnetic anti-skating control and a precision aluminum cuing mechanism
The result of this technology? One of the lowest levels of friction in turntable bearing design, previously unreached rumble measurements and an unbeatable new standard in speed accuracy.

Clearaudio's patented Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB) is the result of long-term research and development.

Two opposing magnetic fields are perfectly aligned one on top of the other, thereby rejecting each other. The magnetic fields are completely shielded from the outside through the careful application of very sophisticated materials. A high precision ceramic vertical shaft fits perfectly into a bronze bearing. This perfect fit is essential and can only be achieved through the highest precision hand polishing.

High-performance synthetic oil is used for lubrication. The combination of these carefully selected components produces the effect of the turntable platter effectively floating on an air cushion, rather than on a ball bearing or bearing point.

The latest incarnation of the Clearaudio Performance is a more substantial turntable than it looks, thanks to a plinth that’s made from a sandwich of aluminium and HDF. You can’t see the high density  fibreboard because it is framed by the natural coloured aluminium in the sandwich, but it performs the critical task of damping any resonance that manages to get through the three adjustable feet beneath it.

The platter is a 40mm slab of acrylic that sits on a ceramic magnetic bearing, the shaft of which has been polished to an even higher degree than on the original Performance. The magnetic suspension means that the ceramic shaft doesn’t need a ball bearing or thrust pad to take the weight of the platter, which should reduce noise from this critical component quite considerably. The drive force comes from a completely separate motor in a solid housing with three silicone feet. It has an acrylic pulley with the larger 45rpm drive above the one for most of your records and you can adjust the height of the pulley with three nylon screws – a fixing that Clearaudio is rather keen on.

 The ‘silent’ drive belt is one piece of silicon based rubber.

The Satisfy Carbon Directwire tonearm has a carbon-fibre main beam that sits on sapphire and ceramic gimbal bearings and supports the cartridge with a fully adjustable headshell. The Directwire suffix indicates a continuous cable run from cartridge tags to phono plugs.
