Cerwin Vega S1

This is a set of Cerwin Vega S-1 Speakers. I bought them new in 1978. They sound fantastic and put out very high SPL's. I am in a band Cirith Ungol and we used Cerwin Vega speakers back then, that is why I acquired them. They are considered the best Cerwin Vega ever made in the home speaker area.

The woofers had seen better days, so I replaced them with the best similar specification Cerwin Vega replacements available. See photos for condition. There is some slight rough areas around the woofers where I had to I had to grind out the hole a bit to make the new woofers fit. They have 1 hour on new woofers. Tweeters and midrange sound as good as new.

First off I just spent $250 of replacement woofers so this is a good deal no matter how you slice it! The sides are perfect but the tops and bottoms have some drink rings and imperfections from aging, which could be easily fixed by modern stain products. I had these placed upside down and up high so the woofers were put in with the logo upside down. They can be turned around but I would not recommend it as they were tight to go in. I replaced the brown grill material with a high quality black grill cloth a few years back and do not have the plastic front logos.Included is the Cerwin Vega 10B-10 Bass Excavator, power supply and original rca cords, and the original sales sheet!

These are heavy at about 50 lbs each and will require pick-up only. I am only selling them as I have no more room for them. They sound as good as new, and better than many new speakers on the market. You cannot beat the sound of a great 12" speaker in a 3 way system. I am around high end sound equipment constantly and these are something special. It breaks my heart to part with them, but hope they find a new owner to care for them. Owned by drummer in "Cirith Ungol"........
