Spica TC-50: Crosby Modified & Original TC-50 Audiophile speakers.  I have 2 pair of Spica speakers that I have owned and used very lightly over the years. I purchased one pair new and the other pair from an original owner. If you are not familiar with these speakers I would encourage you to do some research. These are legendary audiophile speakers and are still extremely well regarded by audio buffs. They offer an extremely beautiful and crisp high/mid range end and stereo separation acoustics that were and still are state of the art. They are regarded by many as one of the most highly regarded small format speakers produced under $1,000.

TC-50 Crosby Modifed My original pair was modified by Crosby and were marketed as "Crosby Modified Spica TC-50 sold directly by Crosby. Crosby was a "A High End Audio Specialist" located in Hobbs, New Mexico. The modifications were basic tweaks on the TC-50 design, but the word on the street and the reviewers was that it took the Spica's to the next level. Crosby rewired the TC-50's with Randall Research cabling and incorporated a internal front-to-rear brace which you could adjust to tune the bass. An additional panel was added purportedly to the rear to stiffen the back, but this may have been to accommodate crossover changes. The internal brace must have been a good idea as a similar brace l was incorporated into the TC50i when it was launched from Spica in 1988. They sold new in 1986 for $950. Crosby also insisted on very heavy stands with the Spicas bolted through to the top plates of the stands and filled with a sand and lead combo bringing creating a very heavy n stand. I have the original stands as well and if interested I might sell the stands but they would be quite expensive to ship given their size and weight. These speakers are drilled out in the bottom with a threaded insert to attach them to speakers stands. The speakers boxes are oak wood veneer in excellent condition, measure 13"w x 16" h, x 11 1/2"d. They are a 2 way speaker with a 6 1/2'" base driver and 1" dome tweeter.
Price: $ 375

TC-50  The second pair is the original TC-50 speaker with walnut veneer boxes. They are also in excellent condition.
Price: $ 350
